E/HEALTH Project: Acquisition of a multiplex PCR microarray device
The General Hospital of Kavala, in the framework of the e/HEALTH project “Receive Emergency/Daily needed HEALTHcare through innovations in the cross border area” with the Emergency Centre of Karzali (BG) as lead partner, funded by the “GREECE – BULGARIA 2014 – 2020” programme, to strengthen its capabilities in emergency equipment, as well as emergency response, procured and commissioned a modern multiplex PCR microarray device for direct (faster) measurement of viral load and identification of microbes and viruses and with lower testing costs. The utilization of the device early in the COVID-19 pandemic had a very positive impact on public health.
